How much $$$ I saved with Sustainable Fashion

Sustainable fashion has this label of being too expensive. So I wanted to do a little experiment and see if it’s actually true or not.

Are we actually paying more for sustainable fashion?

To start off the exeperiment, I recently visited H&M. What I discovered actually shocked me: shapeless polyester pieces, loose threads everywhere, and surprisingly high prices for such low quality.

As I was looking for winter clothes - miss you, Portugal - It’s the perfect oportunity to give you a practical guide of how I did it.

Spoiler alert: the price differences might surprise you!

  1. Me+Em Jumper

Eye-opener: You can get premium natural fibers that last years for less than a synthetic blend that pills after 3 washes.

2. Stella McCartney Trousers

Reality check: Designer sustainable fashion can actually cost less than high-street brands while offering superior quality.

3. Sandro Leather Jacket

Truth bomb: Second-hand designer pieces often cost less than new fast fashion while lasting 10x longer.

4. Thinking Mu Puffer Jacket

Fun fact: Sustainable innovation doesn't always mean higher prices!

The Real Value? It's simple math:

  • Quality pieces retain 40-60% of their value (good luck reselling fast fashion...)

  • Better materials mean more wears, less replacing

  • Thoughtful shopping prevents impulse buys

  • Supporting fair wages feels as good as it looks

  • Major style points

These were the pieces that I’ve found and saved tons on this winter.

What's holding you back from doing the same? I'd love to hear your thoughts and concerns!
