I'm going to show you how the essence of quiet luxury seamlessly blends with contemporary fashion.

In this latest installment of the Canvas to Couture Series, we delve into creating a capsule wardrobe inspired by Vermeer's renowned 'Girl with a Pearl Earring', also dubbed the Mona Lisa of the North.

The enigmatic allure of the portrait, with its impeccable lighting and harmonious neutral colors, was the inspiration behind this client capsule I've created.

It's full of outfits (12) that embody the quiet luxury of our times.

Ep. 21: Vermeer

As a personal stylist, my passion lies in weaving art into the fabric of fashion, culminating in bespoke capsule wardrobes that resonate with personal style and understated elegance.

Since this was created for a specific woman, with a specific lifestyle that requires a clear personal style, it's not going to be your classic quiet luxury. It does have a stylistic touch to it. Let me take you on a journey to craft a wardrobe that's not merely a collection of clothes but a reflection of minimalist chic and timeless sophistication.

Luxury Fashion Is in the Details

Here Are a Few

The Style of the outfits I've put together is a classic creative one. While the fit and cuts are tailored and have a classic design, each clothing item has a creative detail that makes the resulting outfits look unique and not repetitive.

The 12 outfits can be achieved by mixing just 3 sweaters, 3 shirts, 1 pair of trousers, 1 skirt, 4 pairs of shoes, and 2 bags.

If your color season is Spring, these color combinations will make you look stunning. The list of colors I’ve used here includes white, beige, light yellow, camel, dark green (moss), and blue. It’s mostly a neutral palette with a few accents (blue/green).

The body proportions the outfits complement best are Short and Soft.

Quiet Luxury Outfit Tips

  • Begin with a neutral color base (think white, beige, or light yellow) for a chic, understated look.

  • Opt for classic silhouettes with a creative twist to keep things interesting.

  • Curate your wardrobe with essential pieces: think 1-3 cashmere sweaters, 3 versatile blouses or shirts, a pair of tailored trousers, and a chic dress or skirt.

  • Embrace the philosophy of minimalism, focusing on high-quality staples over a cluttered closet.

  • Choose garments that flatter your body type, proportions, size and height.

Building a Capsule Wardrobe: The Essentials

timeless fashion, sweater fall outfits, luxury brands

When building a capsule wardrobe, it's helpful to start with the essentials. A cashmere sweater, a chic midi dress, and a pair of versatile trousers are staples that can be styled in countless ways.

These are the pieces that are essential for the foundation of your wardrobe.

For this capsule, I’ve chosen a navy silk sweater, black bag, brown boots, and vegan leather trousers as my essentials. Even though they might not fit the “basic” definition, they are simple, and beautiful items that will make all my statements shine.

In the end, each piece, selected for its high quality and timeless appeal, forms the foundation of a wardrobe that's both functional and fashionable. And if you're looking to learn how to create such a wardrobe yourself, the Wonder Wardrobe Course is your go-to resource

Quiet Luxury Staples

Elegant Outfit Inspiration, Timeless Fashion Trends

The key to a successful capsule wardrobe is the ability to mix and match. A soft cashmere sweater paired with well-fitted pants or an oversized shirt styled with a mini skirt can create multiple looks. Add a pair of chic flats or elegant boots, and you've got outfits that carry you through various occasions with ease.

Ensure that these staples are not just trendy but also complement your silhouette and personal style.

In the Wonder Wardrobe Course, I delve deeper into how to select these staples and combine them to maximize your wardrobe's versatility.
